NIC Labs is the applied research and technology transfer laboratory of NIC Chile. Our mission is to perform international level research; which can generate new knowledge and be transferred to both the national and international communities, including NIC Chile.

At NIC Labs we focus our work on two primary research and development areas:

• Convergence of Telecommunication Technologies. We have developed several projects which explore the integration of telephony (switching) and IP networks services.
• Next Generation Networks, foreseen the future of Internet. On this domain we have developed applications over 3G networks, are in the process of implementing DNSSEC at NIC Chile (.cl), and are constructing a Chilean IPv6 adoption plan.
