NOTE: Before MD300 DataCard driver installation and uses, it is required the deactivation of all networks interfaces in usage (eth0).
For other Linux distributions, the installation procedure is different . Follow the instructions below:
Requirements

✓ Kernel 2.6 or higher with “udev” support ( kernel by default ) [Get This]

✓ wvdial (Provided in most distributions). [Get This]

✓ Kernel must have the following modules:

•./usb/class/cdc-acm.ko
-
•./kernel/drivers/net/ppp_async.ko
-
•./kernel/drivers/net/ppp_generic.ko
-
•./kernel/drivers/net/slhc.ko
Procedure
-
1.Copy the file 10-entel.rules to the directory /etc/udev/rules.d/.

2.Copy the file wvdial.conf to the directory /etc/.
-
3.Call the “wvdial” command as system root user.
**Redhat/Fedora/CentOS : You may copy the file ifcfg-EntelPCS to /etc/sysconfig/networks-scripts/. ; this able connect to any user using the “ifup EntelPCS” command.
Method 1
Once Datacard is installed, you should proceed as following:

I. Download the source code of the software provided by Vodafone.

II. Add this file sonyericsson_md300.py to the plugins directory.

III. Insert your Datacard in the USB slot and install the software following the instruction of your INSTALL file.

IV. If you are executing for first time, select MD300 as known modem device.

V. Provide the following information: :
‣ Profile Name : Entel ( The name is not relevant )
‣ username: entelpcs
‣ password: entelpcs
‣ Preferred connection: 3G preferred
‣ Authentication mode : Default
‣ APN host : imovil.entelpcs.cl
‣ Use static DNS : (select this)
‣ Primary DNS : 164.77.252.249
‣ Secondary DNS: 164.77.252.215
